DFYNE Impact vs. Dynamic: What's the Difference?
If you've ever been on the DFYNE website trying to decide between Impact and Dynamic, you're not alone. One of the questions I get asked the most is "What's the difference between DFYNE Impact vs Dynamic?" and honestly, the answer just really depends on what you're looking for! I've been wearing both collections since before a lot of people even knew what DFYNE was, so let me break it down for you properly.
The Basics
Impact is DFYNE's most popular collection. It's what put them on the map because it has high compression, the classic scrunch bum seam, and a major glute lift. If you've seen DFYNE on your FYP and thought "I need that," you were probably looking at Impact! Dynamic is a little bit different. Dynamic is DFYNE's OG collection, but it's a medium compression collection with a more relaxed, everyday fit. Dynamic has a less dramatic lift, but it is still incredibly flattering and way more versatile. It's the collection you reach for when you want to look good without feeling like you're wearing a super compressive piece.
Compression and Fit
This is the biggest difference between the two collections. Impact is very tight. Like, tighter than you probably think. It holds everything in place, lifts, sculpts, and does not move during a workout. If you have a curvier build, it can run small so I'd definitely recommend sizing up. The glute lift is real, and it's the main reason why people buy it. Dynamic is more like a traditional legging with some compression. The compression is still there, but it's not as intense. It fits true to size for most people and feels comfortable enough to wear all day, not just at the gym. Think of it as the collection you'd grab for a workout and then keep on while running errands.
Sizing
Impact runs small. I wear a small in most things and I can comfortably size up in Impact, or wear my normal size for a tight fit. If you're in between sizes, definitely go up. Dynamic is true to size across the board, and with some of the lighter colors, you can even size down. No need to overthink it though, just go with your usual size. For tall girls, the regular inseam on both Impact and Dynamic leggings will likely be too short if you're 5'8" or taller. All of my personal sizing across both collections is on my About Me page if you want a reference point.
What's Worth Buying in Each
From Impact, I'd get the 4.5" shorts, the 6.5" shorts, and the leggings. I personally think that the 6.5" shorts fit better than the 4.5" shorts because they don't roll at all, and give more of an intense glute lift. However, DFYNE has not been making 6.5" shorts recently in any of the new colors. I'd skip the strappy bra and bandeau if you have a bigger chest. They don't have enough lining to stay in place during a workout.
From Dynamic, the 4.5" shorts are a must and the twist back tank top is one of my favourite pieces in the entire DFYNE lineup. I'd skip the high neck backless sports bra. The cut can cause some unintentional exposure on the sides depending on your body shape and chest size.
Which One Should You Buy?
Get Impact if you want the classic DFYNE glute lift or if you love a high-compression feel. Get Dynamic if you want something more versatile, where you can work out and then live your life in it, or you find Impact too tight and restrictive. If you can only pick one to start with, I'd say Impact shorts. they're the signature piece for a reason. But Dynamic is the collection I reach for more often in day to day life. It just fits into everything. It's totally up to you and your personal preference!
